Back to One is the first book from Antonia Gavrihel in the series featuring Catherine Leigh and Kyle Weston. What makes Back to One” different— engaging, authentic characters and a friendship that supplants all else.
What is Back to One About?
When Catherine Leigh, a lovely married woman from Alabama, and her young son decide to visit Catherine’s brother, an entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles, a life changing event occurs. Catherine meets the very eligible movie celebrity, Kyle Weston. There is an instant connection of familiarity, trust, and camaraderie. The next few days are spent together, with their children, building the foundation of their friendship with an understanding and a commitment to hold onto their friendship, no matter the distance.
Over the next four-years, their friendship deepens into so much more. It seems to the outside world the most improbable relationship but it is, in fact, the most real. Together they go through challenges and experiences in their careers and personal lives, always there for each other.
True friendship is the driving force in the story. The strength and resilience of the bond maintain the boundaries between the two main characters even beyond the point where, perhaps, it should—protecting the integrity of the friendship may ultimately destroy it.
What inspired you to write Back to One?
Back to One came into being in 1994 when my son was a toddler. After work, after settling my son to sleep, I would sit at my computer and envision Cate and Kyle’s story until about 3 a.m. Every night I crafted my tale of two people from different walks of life, who should have never met, much less become perfect friends. And who, with the love and support of the other, grew to discover what was really important in life.
A year of writing later and the real work of finding a publisher began. The search continued for the next 25 years.
Brief description of Back to One
True friendship is one of the rarest and most misunderstood of things to find. Kyle, one of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities, who never met a real ‘stranger’ and Cate, a happily married mother from Alabama, discover true friendship in the most unlikely of places, each other.
